I’m not sure how God speaks to you, but a few weeks ago, I felt God saying: Stop toiling! Granted, I’ve been asking/praying/meditating about changes in my life that I wanted to see and blockages that would prevent blessing, so I wasn’t entirely surprised.
So, I asked how?
And God said: There will always be something competing for your fear.
Then I was reminded of all the things in my life where I feared something or was encouraged to fear about something. Some were practical and some impractical. Practical fear keeps you from hurting yourself and others. Impractical fear keeps you from living a full life. The latter is where I needed to focus.
God wanted me to give Him my fear faith.
The past few years have been difficult physically, emotionally, and financially. Being single again was not my choice, but it was my reality. God’s grace allowed me to see that it is much better for me this way. I feel renewed, free, and trust God more than I ever have, for lack of a better way to put it.
The fear I had, in the beginning, was truly unnecessary, but I didn’t see how it all fit together and that caused my fear. Now, I’m even more sure that better things are ahead because of what I’ve seen and experienced already. Isaiah 61:3 means something for me now, not just toward others.
If you are in the trenches right now, please know that God CAN make it beautiful. It will never look the way it did before, but it WILL be exceedingly and abundantly good beyond your current comprehension.
I didn’t need any magic prayers, symbols, incantations – nothing! All the faith I had in my fears, I put that faith in God. He needed nothing but a willing heart that trusts that He provides what we need when we need it and leads us to the desires of our heart.
And for those of you like me who want to be perfect? Here is the only perfection you need to strive for: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. Deuteronomy 6:4-5.
Jesus was right (Matthew 6:25-34). Worry is an insult to God’s Kingdom. If you are a child of God, He promises to take care of your every need. If you are not a child of God, simply ask.
LORD, help me put my fears in You so that You can take my fear of other things away and have true freedom in this life.
