Merry Christmas and Happy 2021

It’s been quite a year! I’m single again, moved to Harlem and lost an uncle to Covid-19 pneumonia. But, I’m bouncing back and looking forward to the future. You may not be a believer, but God has never let me down. He always does what is best for my future, and that’s exciting and intricate. How I’ve made it through…is nothing short of a supernatural miracle. Speaking of that, I read a TON during Covid, but two books really impacted me this year and I want to share. The first is Unseen Realm: Recovering the Supernatural Worldview of the Bible by Michael S. Heiser*. If you know me, you know how much I love the book of Genesis and my theology on Genesis 6. This book clarifies that and answers all of the supernatural verses pastors avoid because they can’t explain them. It is mind blowing and I get giddy just thinking about a reread! The other book is Bearing God’s Name: Why Sinai Still Matters by Carmen Joy Imes*. This was one of the books in my church‘s book club. When my friend Sandra listened to Mrs. Imes on the Bible Project Podcast she knew my brain would tingle! And she was spot on! Imes explains the complex origin of Christian theology so simply that you’re either enraged or blown away. I was both! It’s why I believe what I believe and why I’m excited about the future. If you’ve ever been curious about how I believe, these two books are the key!

Have a wonderful Holiday and anticipate a shift in 2021. Shifts are not always comfortable, but when you submit to the change your world opens up to a beautiful reality of truth! Be patient, trust the forces of good working in your life and separate yourself from toxic atmospheres…and that includes the people in them. Be brave and be true to where you are on your journey. The best is yet to come!

Cheers!
